“Pruitt fixed up the kids’ bikes and even went dumpster diving for a few to restore. But he didn’t stop there: in about a month, Pruitt has restored over 70 bikes for free. “One of my favorite verses of the Bible is Revelation 21:5. It says, ‘Behold, I make all things new,’ and so I feel like I’m part of making something old, new again, or something abandoned, usable again.”

“He set a goal of fixing 100 bikes before the end of 2020. He surpassed that, repairing more than 140 bicycles — donating about 60 percent of them and returning the rest to their owners. He gives bikes to anyone who asks, but tries to support children and families who are struggling. Most requests come in on Facebook.”

“Since posting his offer to fix bikes in the private Loudoun County Facebook group, Pruitt has received more than 500 repair requests through the page for what he considers mission work that has more to do with his core beliefs than it does with his day job.”
