Preparing the Way for Peace

Are you preparing the way for the peace you need in your life? Is the pathway for peace in your life straight, level, and clear of any obstructions?

We all need God’s peace, and we can all cultivate the pathway for God’s presence and peace.

We can prepare the way for peace in our lives. We can make straight and level pathways for the peace and presence of God in our lives.

The good news of the gospel begins with Jesus Christ, the Son of God. “As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, ‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” (Mark 1:1-3, ESV).

The Prophet John the Baptist, God’s chosen messenger, came to prepare the way for Jesus, the Prince of Peace. John cried out that all people should prepare the way of the Lord in their own lives and to make his pathway straight.

Sometimes we do not have the presence and peace of God in our lives because there is a crooked and cluttered pathway to our hearts.

May we prepare the pathway for God’s presence and peace in our lives as we wait on God’s appearance on a straight and smooth pathway to our heart.

A Collect for the Second Sunday in Advent: “Blessed Lord, who caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and the comfort of your holy Word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
