Scarlet and Gold
Something like the heart of Paul
intertwined in scarlet and gold.
“He’s a King!”
“He’s a King!”
“He’s a sacrificial offering!”
Intermingled in bloodstained scarlet
upon cold steel spike of nail
in royal purple bruise
and wealth of gold
a mangled sight to behold
The truth be told
“He’s a King!”
“He’s a King!”
“He’s a sacrificial offering!”
Crucified the flesh of old
a new life to behold
Something like the heart of Paul
to live as Christ
having become nothing at all.
